The modern New College buildings – opened in 2003 – house state-of-the art facilities which will really help your studies. This section of our website will show you what you can look forward to.

Computing and IT

The College has a large number of computer rooms, some for general use and others for specialist subject areas such as Languages, Media and Music Technology. They are all equipped with PCs or Apple Macs running up-to-date software. You have email, access to the internet and the student network, and a College printer allowance.

You can use a computer at any time, and if you need advice there is always someone who can help you, including our tutors in the Open Learning Centre attached to the Library.

Library & E-learning

Our well-stocked library at the Queens Drive site is bursting at the seams with up-to-date books, newspapers and magazines, videos and DVDs to support all the courses run by the College.

Every student also has access to Moodle – the network of e-learning resources that are available, in College and at home, through the internet.

Have a Break

The main entrance hall is a social area; the Student Union is based here and provides useful information. The restaurant area has seating and tables to let you relax and socialise in your free time, as well as enjoy a cup of coffee, a snack or a meal.

Phoenix Theatre & Dance Studio

New College stages a wide range of musical and theatrical events. Productions are usually every two weeks during term time, with other events as well.

The Dance Studio has a sprung floor and practice mirrors.

Get Active!

To keep you fit and in shape you can use our fully-equipped sports hall and fitness suite in our Sports Centre, either independently or through one of the eXtras classes. We also have dance classes in the Dance Studio with sprung floor and practice mirrors.
