Courses for 14-16 year old Students
College@14!
There may be reasons why studying at College is best for you. There are now full- and part-time courses for 14-16 year olds at New College, including:
- GCSEs or AS Levels
- Young Apprenticeships
- Gifted and Talented courses
You need the agreement of your school to study with us, if you are under 16. Your school will have the special Application Form, or you can ask for one from Admissions at New College.
Over 80% of our 14-16 year old students continue their studies with us when they reach 16!
GCSEs and A Levels
You can take some or all of your GCSEs at New College and your school may include this in your options for Years 10 and 11. Why not try subjects that are not available at school? You may even be able to start your AS Levels at 14 – talk to us for more information.
Young Apprenticeships
If you are keen to try out the world of work, we have Young Apprenticeships in Business Administration and Health and Social Care.
You take your main GCSEs at school, and one of these Young Apprenticeship courses at New College. We organise 50 days’ work experience for you, too!
We host special conferences, where local business leaders meet 14-16 year olds and pass on their expertise and skills.
Gifted and Talented Programme (14-16)
We offer a special range of courses for very able students. Art and Textiles, Dance, Law, Maths, French, Music Technology, Science and Web Design are all available in our after-school programme.
