Five New College students are celebrating High Flyer Scholarship wins!
The five students are amongst those from the new intake of students for September 2017 who have joined our High Flyers scheme. This is open to students who have achieved a minimum of six grade A/A* or grades 7-9 in their GCSEs.
The scheme provides special initiatives and support for students including presentations from top universities and graduate employers; expert assistance with Oxbridge applications, fast-track A Levels and additional qualifications designs to stretch and challenge students.
To be considered for one of the scholarships, students must submit an application detailing the subjects they want to study at New College and their reasons, plus why they think they should receive a scholarship. Winners each receive a £150 cheque to help towards the purchase of additional resources for their courses.
The five winners are Enya Atipou (Commonweal); Anna Callis (Churchfields); Michael Chiu (Isambard); Ross Wardle (Royal Wootton Bassett Academy) and Cameron Young (Isambard).
Michael (picture, centre) says:
"I chose New College because it provides a variety of courses with a good working environment which promotes independent learning. I think it provides good facilities with outstanding teaching in a setting which prepares you well for university. I plan to eventually study Medicine at Oxbridge."
Well done to all five winners!
