Prepare for University and Work
Whether you want to go to university first or travel during a gap year, you will need to get a job eventually. We are committed to offering skills and knowledge to make you stand out from the crowd and able to secure your chosen job. The New College Employability Team is here to help.
Employability skills are reinforced in lessons, as well as developed further in College events, short online qualifications and specific enrichment courses.
You can participate in different opportunities linked to business, employers and entrepreneurial initiatives. Many courses include presentations by businesses and vocational courses involve a work experience placement or simulated work-related activities.
16-18 Job Club

Get help to update your CV; learn to sell your skills professionally; make a vital phone call or write a successful covering letter. With our dedicated online VLE resources, you can continue to access support on your application at home too.
These are part of the Apprenticeship family. Their aim is to secure progression to an Apprenticeship or sustainable job. They usually last six months and consist of a high quality work placement typically for 6 – 8 weeks; work preparation training tailored to the individual and English and Maths qualifications.
