These are highly-recognised and fully-accredited courses that are designed to help you reach your career goals. They provide a practical, real-world approach to learning alongside a theoretical background, giving you the knowledge, understanding and skills that you need to prepare yourself for both employment or University.
New College has specialist facilities and resources for vocational courses including salons, a theatre, art, dance and photographic studios, sports hall, 3G pitch and more. All of our facilities are fully-equipped with the materials needed to develop and practise your skills in a professional, hands-on environment.
PREPARING YOU FOR UNIVERSITY OR WORK
Vocational qualifications are ideal for your progression to either University or work. 95% of Universities and Colleges in the UK accept BTEC qualifications. Vocational students can often be better prepared in terms of the independent studying that is required at degree level, due to the portfolio-based nature of courses.
We have excellent links with employers, which will help you access great employability opportunities. We develop and design our courses to meet the needs of business already in the sector to ensure that you will have the skills that employers are looking for when you leave us.
You will also be expected to undertake relevant work experience as part of your study programme.
You will be able to participate in what we call "Extraordinary Extras". These are enrichment initiatives which are designed to help you develop the skills and qualities to help you succeed. They include: events such as College Production and end of Year Shows; additional qualifications; and clubs and competitions such as E-Sports Tournament
