Enrichment at New College
There are plenty of chances to contribute to College life and get involved! Enrichment can be experienced as part of your main College programme or pathway (as Extraordinary Extras), or as additional activities.
We want to ensure our students progress to their next life stage and develop the necessary life skills to apply for University, jobs and apprenticeships through our four KEY areas: Employability, Community Participation, Personal Development Skills, Sports & Fitness
Become a Student Rep
Our Taskforce Groups undertake a development project (‘a mission’) to bring about positive impacts for students at the College and where possible the local community. They then pitch for funding (£1,000 prize fund) in a local business ‘Dragons Den’.
This year, the student reps have formed the following four groups:
Environmental, Mental Health, Charity & Fundraising, Enrichment
Become a NC Ambassador
It’s important to enjoy a varied social life and have a say on what matters. Our NC Ambassadors represent the College at a range of voluntary and paid events. Develop skills such as team working, decision-making and customer service.
*Compulsory training in Safeguarding and Equality and Diversity is provided
Raising and Giving Money
Our students are very proactive when it comes to fundraising. They raise money during national events as well as the College’s three official charities: Prospect Hospice, Wiltshire Air Ambulance and MS Therapy Centre.
Learn During Themed Events
Themed events run throughout the year. We invite internal and external organisations in over lunchtimes to offer you information, initiatives and life skills (www.speakers4schools.org)
BBC Wiltshire got a piece of all the action at our 2019 Freshers Festival. During our “Street Market” themed event, they did a running commentary of what went down. They even did a radio interview with our Principal, Carole Kitching in a Tuc Tuc!
