What Can I Study?
Each student who enrols on an HNC/HND or Foundation Degree at New College will receive a FREE HP Notebook* to help with your studies. Not only that, but after completing the course, the device is yours to keep at no extra cost!
Higher Nationals (HNC/HND)
Higher Nationals are level 4 and 5 qualifications – the same as a Foundation Degree. They are vocational courses with an emphasis on ‘learning by doing’; focusing on the skills and knowledge needed for a particular job role or career. An HNC or HND could be the ideal choice if you're seeking a cost-effective, vocational pathway through higher education or into a career.

Studying for a foundation degree at New College will allow you to gain a recognised degree qualification accredited by the University of Gloucestershire or Bath Spa University. You will benefit from access to resources and facilities at the universities as well as New College. Foundation degrees provide a strong platform for learners seeking employment or a stepping stone to a full undergraduate qualification later on.

Explore the status of children in society and discuss how practitioners can allow the voice of the child to be heard. You’ll gain a thorough understanding of the regulatory and legislative framework for early years, and the government’s agenda and strategies as they relate to young children and their families.

Access to Higher Education Diploma
Ideal for anyone needing the relevant level 3 qualifications to progress onto a degree-level course. Designed especially for mature students who have had a break from their studies (of 1 year or more), this qualification is generally accepted as an alternative to A-Levels and is combined with GCSEs.
