Data Analyst Apprenticeship (Level 4)
Apprenticeships are a cost-effective means of delivering industry training to both new and existing employees , with a proven track record of increasing employee retention, productivity, and reducing the skills gap.
The primary role of a Data Analyst is to collect, organise and study data to provide business insight. Data analysts are typically involved with managing, cleansing, abstracting and aggregating data, and conducting a range of analytical studies on that data. They work across a variety of projects, providing technical data solutions to a range of stakeholders/customers issues. They document and report the results of data analysis activities making recommendations to improve business performance. They have a good understanding of data structures, database systems and procedures and the range of analytical tools used to undertake a range of different types of analysis.

Data Analyst, Data Manager, Data Scientist, Data Modeller, Data Architect, Data Engineer.
Individual employers will set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include A levels; a level 3 apprenticeship or other relevant qualifications; relevant experience and/or an aptitude test with a focus on functional maths. We have to make sure that the Apprentice has the potential to achieve the different elements that make up the Apprenticeship qualification, and that they are working at the right level in their job. It may be a requirement to complete an initial assessment in English and Maths, and this may lead to taking some additional diagnostic assessments and skills exams.
24 months to complete, depending on the employer and apprentice needs.
This apprenticeship standard has been developed with the help of employers such as The Royal Signals, Microsoft, Cisco, John Lewis, the RAF, Optimity, Hewlett Packard, HMRC, the Home Office, Oracle, the NHS, IBM, Cap Gemini, Freedom Communications, BT and Arqiva.
