Certificate in Management
You will develop management methodology and ethos as a first line manager, project manager or team leader, building upon your past knowledge and experience. The Certificate in Management provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the Level 4 NVQ in Management. To gain this additional qualification you will need to build up a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your workplace competence. This may be done in parallel with the Certificate programme, or after the course has been completed.
Diploma in Management
You will develop as a middle/senior manager by focusing on the strategic issues of managing an organisation. The programme develops the knowledge gained from the Certificate in Management, and from personal experience and/or other development programmes. The Diploma in Management provides the underpinning knowledge and understanding of the Level 5 NVQ in Management. To gain this additional qualification, you will need to build up a portfolio of evidence to demonstrate your workplace competence. This may be done in parallel with the Diploma programmes, or after the course has been completed.
Fast Track Approach
We will be offering the Chartered Management Institute accredited Certificate in Management and Diploma in Management through our Fast Track approach. This allows managers to achieve a qualification in a shorter amount of time without compromising on quality or success. If participants do not wish to complete the whole qualification, they can select specific modules of the course in areas relevant to their career development.
Course Content
The Certificate and Diploma programmes consist of four modules associated with the four key roles identified by the Management Charter Initiative:
- Module 1 – Managing Information
- Module 2 – Managing People
- Module 3 - Planning & Control of Physical & Financial Resources
- Module 4 - Managing Activities
Assessment
You will be taught by a variety of experienced management trainers. All materials and texts are included and assessment is by means of four work-based assignments, a major project and a short presentation.
