The Honours Degree programme at New College offers you a local route to your degree! This route is ideal for those who need or want to stay more local initially, or those who would like a more gradual introduction to university. You can take the first year of your Honours Degree in Swindon through New College’s partnership with Bath Spa University (BSU) on either a full-time or part-time basis. After successful completion of this first stage of your degree, you can transfer to a guaranteed place at BSU. If you choose not to continue your Honours Degree after the end of your year at New College, you will receive the Certificate in Higher Education from BSU.
What will I achieve?
After three years of study you can achieve a BA or BSc (Honours) degree in:

- Sociology
- or a Combined Award (two subjects) with Psychology, English or Sociology as your major
What is the Study Programme?
At New College, you will study 3 or 4 modules - one module each of English, Psychology and Sociology worth 40 credits each. A second psychology module worth 20 credits, in Research Methods is available for those wanting to major in psychology in yr 2/3. The full-time course starts in September and involves approximately ten hours of college-based study each week over two days and one evening, plus study time at home.
