The UK faces a growing shortage of digital skills and the Swindon and Wiltshire local education partnership (LEP) has identified growing digital capability as one of its five key strategic objectives.
New College is taking steps to address this digital skills gap and in May 2017 will be launching a risual Microsoft Academy. Through this innovative academy (the only one of its kind in the LEP) New College will help to support the digital needs of individuals, employers and communities within the Swindon and Wiltshire area.
The Academy will deliver digital learning, IT training and qualifications, as well as a range of IT apprenticeships that will include Software Developer, Network Engineer and Infrastructure Technician. The apprenticeships will be flexibly designed to meet employer needs and linked to industry recognised vendor qualifications (Microsoft MOS, MTA, MCP).
