Out of the eight categories companies were judged under, New College was ranked highly within the 'My Team' category. Only 25 companies were listed as performing well in this category, and New College was particularly noted for its team spirit, employees feeling part of the company and engendering a feeling of belonging.
New College also performed well in the 'Personal Growth' and 'My Manager' categories. This means that New College staff feel challenged by their job, feel their skills are being used, that there is scope for advancement, and positive feelings towards their immediate boss and day-to-day managers.
'100 Best Places to Work' is based on the results of anonymous questionnaires filled in by the company's staff members. 73% of New College staff members filled in the questionnaire, which was optional to complete, ensuring the results are representative and as un-biased as possible.
