New College Swindon. Best compaines award winner 2011.
About the List
Each year the Sunday Times produces The 100 Best Places to Work in the Public & Charity Sectors, The 100 Best Small Companies to Work For, and The 100 Best Companies and 25 Best Big Companies to Work For.
The result is a directory of best employment practice, and a guide to the happiest and most dynamic workplaces in the country.
'100 Best Places to Work' is based on the results of anonymous questionnaires filled in by the company's staff members. 73% of New College staff members filled in the questionnaire, which was optional to complete, ensuring the results are representative and as un-biased as possible.
Companies applying to be on the list are judged under eight factors:
- Leadership (how employees feel about the senior management)
- Wellbeing (feelings about stress and work/life balance)
- My company (opinions on the organisation as a whole)
- Giving back (the company contributing to society in general)
- Personal Growth (staff feel challenged by their job and their skills are being used)
- My manager (positive feelings towards their immediate boss and day-to-day managers)
- My team (team spirit, and engendering a feeling of belonging)
- Fair deal (opinions on pay and benefits)
