Support for individuals who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET ("Get Ahead")
We are pleased to be working with Wiltshire College to
provide support for young people aged 15-24 in Swindon who are not in
education, employment or training (NEET), or who are at risk of becoming NEET.
Running from April 2019 to July 2021, we are providing training and support
services to enable young people to progress into education, employment,
Apprenticeships or Traineeships.
This initiative is part-funded by the European Social Fund.
Bath Spa University - Higher Education Partner
New College has been working in partnership with Bath Spa University for over a decade with the Early Years Foundation Degree, offering degree provision in a local context. Students successfully completing a foundation degree may be eligible to progress to the third year of an Honours Degree programme.
University of Gloucestershire - Higher Education Partner
Our partnership with the University of Gloucestershire has expanded to include two new foundation degrees as of September 2018. Providing local students with more opportunities to stay local whilst gaining a university accredited degree. Foundation Degrees include Cyber Security and Health & Social Care .
David Game College - Higher Education Partner
David Game College (DGC) is the London-based collaborative partner of New College Swindon delivering BTEC HNC/D courses in Business Management, Health & Social Care, Public Services and Art & Design. The College, established in 1974 is registered with the DfE and inspected by Ofsted (Outstanding 2017). Its four main departments comprise: GCSE & A levels; University Foundation Programmes (UFP); the Kensington Academy of English (British Council accredited) and the David Game Higher Education Centre (DGHE). The latter comes under the educational oversight of the QAA and is HER (AP) reviewed.
Ukie’s Digital Schoolhouse powered by PlayStation, sponsored by SEGA and Warwickshire County Council uses play-based learning to engage the next generation of pupils and teachers with the Computing curriculum.
New College has become the first Further Education college to become a Digital Schoolhouse (DSH) and is the only one in the Swindon and Wiltshire region. The Digital Schoolhouse programme has gained national and international recognition for its pioneering initiatives in the teaching of ICT and Computer Science to primary school pupils and the wider public audience.
Our risual Microsoft Academy was developed in partnership with IT industry experts, risual, who hold Gold standard Microsoft competencies in nine areas. The academy is used to help to support the digital training needs of individuals, employers and communities within the Swindon and Wiltshire area. With a heritage of Microsoft expertise, risual, Microsoft Partner of the Year 2015, are engaged in driving digital transformation and success for organisations across all sectors.
