Student Guides
Student Guides play an important part in promoting the College, especially at Open Evenings, providing College tours, and showing prospective students what New College is about. Being a Student Guide offers you experiences that will develop your team work skills, increase your confidence – and look good on your CV!
Your Student Voice
It’s really important that you get involved in your College and there are many ways you can do this. We ask everyone to join one of the College’s student teams:
- Charity Team – organising and supporting charity events
- Entertainments Team – student entertainment, radio station, fun days
- Mentor Team – supporting other students as a peer mentor, subject mentor or e-mentor
You can tell us what you think in many ways, too. You could be a member of:
- the Student Council – representatives from all curriculum areas; gives you a voice on teaching and learning issues
- the Tutorial Forum – gives you a voice in shaping the tutorial curriculum in College
- the Student Union Executive – the elected President and other student members who look after student issues and organise fun events
Each of these gives us essential feedback of your views on matters that are important. You are also likely to be asked to complete questionnaires and surveys and take part in Quality Circles and Focus Groups – these all help the College to improve how we meet YOUR needs.
